Q: I am a partner in a limited liability partnership (PLT). I receive profit distribution from the partnership. Is this profit subject to income tax?

A: Yes, effective from the Year of Assessment 2026, profit distributions received by partners from PLTs exceeding RM100,000 are subject to income tax at 2%, after taking into account allowable reliefs and deductions.
