Q: I am a retiree, and only earn a rental income of RM1,200 per month. If my rental income is below the taxable threshold, do I still need to file an income tax return?

A: Yes, you still need to file an income tax return even if your income does not reach the taxable threshold. Only when you receive approval from the Inland Revenue Board to stop filing your income tax return, then you are not required to continue filing the income tax return.
