Q: I received a one-off RM100 cash assistance from the MyKasih Foundation. I used it to buy biscuits which will be sold in my mini market. Can I claim tax deduction on the purchase of biscuits expense against the sale of biscuits?

A: No, the expense incurred on the purchase of biscuits is not deductible against the sale of biscuits because the purchase is made from a subsidy given to you by the government.

Wishing you plentiful tax savings!
