Q: How much personal tax relief can I claim if my child is undertaking a Foundation course in a university?
A: If your child is undertaking a Foundation course, you are only eligible to claim child relief of RM2,000. However, you may claim child relief of RM8,000 if your child is undertaking a Diploma programme or above in a tertiary institution in Malaysia, or Degree programme or above in a tertiary institution outside Malaysia.
