Q: If Andrew signs up for a mobile data plan and at the same time, he also purchases a handphone by paying an additional RM 100 per month, can he claim the additional RM 100 as the purchase of handphone for lifestyle relief?    

A: Yes, if he can provide an invoice showing the purchase of handphone with the price stated in the invoice, then he can claim the purchase of handphone under lifestyle relief. If he cannot provide an invoice to show what is the price of the handphone, then he cannot claim the handphone under lifestyle relief as it may indicate the handphone is free.
